We thought our 2026 diary was complete — but we're adding one more dinner. With so many of our forthcoming gatherings already sold out, we've squeezed in one extra date before the end of the season, and what a lovely one it is. On Wednesday 11th November, Dinners With Friends heads to The Galley in Topsham, a long-established and simply fabulous restaurant in the heart of this beautiful estuary town. Just four miles from Exeter city centre, The Galley is one of Devon's most formally recognised independent restaurants, with a 2026 Michelin Plaque, an AA Rosette and an impressive 36 years on the Exe Estuary. The Galley is especially known for its fresh fish and seafood, sourced from Brixham, Newlyn and the Cornish markets — but you certainly don't need to be a fish lover to join us. Its carefully considered menus also include excellent meat and vegetarian dishes, all prepared with the same flair and attention to detail. We feel very privileged to have secured a Dinners With Friends gathering at this intimate and highly regarded restaurant. Please note that this dinner begins slightly earlier than usual. Guests should arrive promptly at 6.45pm, ready to dine at 7pm. Pre-orders will be requested from the beginning of November. If you've been disappointed to find our autumn events already full, this is your unexpected extra opportunity to join us.

The Galley has been cooking on Topsham's Fore Street for 36 years, four miles from Exeter city centre in one of Devon's prettiest estuary towns. One of the county's most formally recognised independent restaurants — a 2026 Michelin Plaque and an AA Rosette — it is best known for fresh fish and seafood landed at Brixham, Newlyn and the Cornish markets, alongside carefully considered meat and vegetarian dishes cooked with the same flair.
