Around the Globe, without leaving Torquay!
Here's somewhere a little different for our new 2027 programme, and one that has been personally recommended to me!
The Globe is a relatively new, independently owned restaurant in Torwood Street, Torquay, with a rather lovely story behind it. Its owners, Milan and Emily, have travelled to more than 50 countries, gathering ideas, flavours and inspiration along the way. Now they've brought those experiences home, combining fresh, seasonal Devon ingredients with cooking styles and flavours from around the world. And that's why it's called The Globe!
The menu changes regularly, so there's always something new to discover, and the restaurant has already earned an impressive reputation. At the time of writing, it has a perfect 5 out of 5 rating from 69 reviews on Tripadvisor, which is quite an achievement!
I haven't eaten here personally yet, but it comes with a glowing personal recommendation, and I do love finding independent restaurants where the people behind them are clearly passionate about what they do.
We'll be gathering for dinner at 7.30pm, with a maximum of just 12 people around our Dinners With Friends table. Good food, interesting company and perhaps a little culinary adventure without even needing a passport!
A little note about the menu: pre-orders will be required for this gathering, but there's nothing you need to do about that just yet. We'll be in touch much closer to the date with the menu and details of how to make your choices.
