We're coming to Bristol
After two years of full tables across Devon, Dinners With Friends is crossing the border. This autumn we're hosting three dinners in three different corners of Bristol — one long table each, at a genuinely good restaurant, with a host to break the ice.
September in the Old City, October in Totterdown, November in Clifton Village. Dates are set and seats go on sale shortly — each one is a single table of twelve, so register now and you'll hear the moment they open.
Every Bristol dinner runs subject to a minimum table of eight. We confirm each one two weeks before the date — and if a dinner doesn't go ahead, every credit you spent comes straight back in full. No small print, no quibble.

Three dinners, three Bristols
We haven't picked one venue and hoped. September is The Ox — a dark, low-lit basement steakhouse beneath the old Commercial Rooms on Corn Street. October is BANK in Totterdown, an independent neighbourhood restaurant cooking sharing plates over fire, with the long feasting tables we love. November is Bar 44 in Clifton Village, where we take over one of the old bank vaults beneath the restaurant — tiled walls, low ceilings and a Spanish feast down the middle of the table.
Old City, Totterdown, Clifton — three genuinely different crowds, three genuinely different rooms. Wherever in Bristol you are, one of these tables is yours. And if the city takes to it the way Devon has, this becomes every month.

- When is Dinners With Friends coming to Bristol?
- Our first three Bristol dinners run this autumn: Wednesday 16 September at The Ox (Old City), Wednesday 21 October at BANK (Totterdown), and Wednesday 18 November at Bar 44 (Clifton Village). Each is a single table of twelve. Seats open shortly — register and you'll be told first.
- How does a Dinners With Friends dinner work?
- You book a seat with credits, turn up at the restaurant, and join one long table of twelve people who all came to meet new people. A host handles the introductions and keeps the evening easy. Food and drink are paid at the restaurant.
- What happens if a Bristol dinner doesn't reach its minimum?
- Each dinner runs subject to a minimum table of eight. We confirm or release each dinner two weeks before the date — and if one doesn't go ahead, every credit is returned in full, automatically.
- Can I come to a Bristol dinner on my own?
- Yes — most guests do. Everyone at the table booked specifically to meet new people, so nobody is the odd one out. Singles, couples, new in town or been here forever: everyone is welcome.
- Who comes to Dinners With Friends?
- Most of our guests are in their forties, fifties and sixties, with plenty beyond. It's platonic by design — new friends, not networking, and not a dating event.
